Dear Frederic, "Empathy" can be a blessing and a burden. As we feel the pain of others, it is hard not to accept their problems as our own. Extraordinary tanka, Frederic! Thanks also for your comments on the extinction poem. I do believe what you said about being alone on the "bloody rock" may happen one day. So sad. Love, Carolyn
