Emily Dickinson
God was calling her
All her companions answered
And trusted him
But she was standing
Alone in rebellion
People were calling her
All her friends were out
Walking down the streets
But she was standing
Alone in rebellion
Love was calling her
Everybody was in love
She preferred solitude
And that`s why she stood
Alone in rebellion
But her room and her garden
Were full of birds
Dreamy birds, passionate birds
Which perched upon her soul
While she was writing, dressed in white
