Elusiveness of Love

What is this most elusive dream Forever within my grasp, Yet too illusive to see. Whenever I persue it, it runs away But when I end the chase, It chases after me. Why is it such a mystery. Just when I think I know the answer, Another clue appears. My God it's hard to face the fact That I've been so wrong, by being so right For oh so many years. When will love shine its light on me? I have't grown too cold To be warmed by its glow. Will it hide from me forever I might find out tomorrow, but then again Perhaps I'll never know.
