Ellen's Raft We sit above the darkened sea A bench, my thoughts, and lonely me Black waves rise igniting fear And crash against my concrete pier The mindful storm tears at me No moon, no stars, just my sea White caps pushed to meet the sky Higher and higher the waves try Rescue her from that storm Deliver her dry and warm
