Electronic Host
We wait and we watch
Watching around the clock
For a small spark of action
To wake the sleeping rock
To draw eyes in close
And grip onto your emotions
To grab a hold of life
And freeze frame perpetual motion
Watching close to hear the jokes
Was it a hoax, or just those folks?
You'll never know through all of the snow
They planted a show, and watched it grow
24 hours a day
7 days a week
Everything you need
No need to speak
But don't turn your back
There's no telling what you could miss
The oncoming, unforseen end
Or just a good bye kiss
Life lost from inside a box
Life rots, but at what cost?
Watching close to make the most
Now raise in toast to the electronic host
Enslaved by technology
Affraid to miss a beat
Watching the world passing by
While yours is in repeat
We all long for entertainment
But how close is too close?
Living out a false reality
All thanks to the electronic host
