Elections
Tis the season to be one
With the common man
Philosophy and faith they'll quote
Whichever softens you to give the vote
Suddenly their schedule isn't as busy
And their telephone lines now go through easy
Suddenly their office doors swing open
That you walk in and walk out with promises of heaven
And a reminder that you remember your kinsman
As you indeed would consider your son
Billboards and garments bear some face
On all roads their guzzlers pace
With or without song and dance
We somehow conspicuously capture their glance
For prey is not attractive for its beauty
But a victim of the attacker's pangs on duty
So, however low you think you lay
So captivating are you especially this day
You are not that hidden, so be tactful
They aim at the heartfelt, so be mindful
Let God lead your decision
That you obtain His exactitude with precision
That your discernment approaches refinement
To distinguish between hope and excitement
Men are in cutthroat contention for the gates
To determine the opening and closing of fates
Pray that like wheat we are not sifted
Proclaim that the ancient gates be lifted
That love may be restored and so may God's Lampstand
That the world may yield to Heaven's demand.
