Eighteen
You're so close yet you're out of reach
Inadequacy is what I preach
I'll never be yours, you'll never be mine
Eighteen years of steady decline
I grin and bear but inside I am dying
Can't change the past so I should stop trying
When I was young I had an innocent dream
But now I've grown it is over it seems
On a lonesome night I gaze at the stars
Is a little happiness too much to ask?
Is a little warmth too much to spare?
Stuck in a road that'll lead me nowhere
You're so close yet you're out of reach
Inadequacy is what I preach
Head over heels, I know I've fallen
My love, can you hear me calling?
