The ego however, is not who you really are. The ego is your self-image ...

Does life to anyone really make sense? If it does, then I must be really dense. God offers his wisdom and truth to man, Yet it still seems we seldom understand. Are we blinded by reason, and logic? Surely, it’s not genes or biologic? While meditating on things I don’t know, It came to me; the culprit is ego. Its goal is to always self-edify, Secretly cloaking what’s seen with the eye. The illusion creates a false belief, The deception ends up, leading to grief. Life will make sense when we look through God’s eyes, We’ll see his will and reject ego’s lies.

a brilliant, soulful Sonnet, dear hubby with a flowing rhyme scheme. Your message about self-edifying ego is profound. Ego wants to deceive us all and hide what's real...definitely leads to grief and regrets. Through God's eyes, though, we can see beyond the deception. Well penned, dearest Bill. I love and appreciate your wisdom and your poetic voice, hugs, me

Personality is a force that every individual must subdue; however, some are unable to do so and allow it to dictate their entire existence... Your poem conveys an argument and an obligation to which all individuals ought to submit... Your poem flowing Is great and your rhymes are exceptionally well, dear friend Bill.

Thank you, my friend. I'm trying to write my sonnets with 10 syllables in each line now. I got a little sloppy with some of them in the past and I want to write better. Thanks for you support. Bill

So true and profound dear bill, well written and your rhymes are brilliant. I agree ego gets in the way and destroys all. If one keeps ego aside so much can be resolved and so much can be fixed without negativity. I really love especially the line “ Are we blinded by reason, and logic? Surely, it’s not genes or biologic?“ excellent. “ The illusion creates a false belief, The deception ends up, leading to grief.” so true and has a touch of philosophy, can tell you are a very deep thinker. What a wonderfully crafted sonnet with thought-provoking words of wisdom and philosophical depth. You've so rightly said that ego is the culprit, often illustrating false images and cloaking our eyes with cloaks of deception.. And then leads to regrets & grief.. Sigh. God's shine can always erase such illusions and fill our hearts with a higher perspective.. A very remarkable piece.. Love this!
