Eerie Green

The yard light is an eerie green Sparkling like a bright star Contrasted against the fog's veil And solid clouds afar The dampness in the morn's still air Is only slightly cool If the sun breaks through fog and clouds A sauna then will rule The Doves don't seem to mind the warmth Crickets sing their delight Other birds seem quiet still ~sleep As though it were still night The roosters crow trying to wake The hidden sun from slumber Crows come alive cawing warnings Many are their numbers Fog's thick veil settles, engulfs, wraps Natural and manmade Condensation falls covers all Like One Cloud that stayed

The word 'eerie' and 'green' put together in the title caught my attention. I'm glad it did. This is a beautiful poem. I can see everything so clearly. Always, Laura
