Education Damnation
If only I could fly away,
Above the cities, beyond the bays;
To dance among the Northern Lights,
To scale glaciers of such might.
Might one day I also see,
Where in this world my place will be;
As I think it not here in this college,
With it's false opinions and daunting knowledge.
Knowledge which once I knew so well,
But from my prime I shook and fell;
In a world now so educated,
What once was so simple is now complicated.
Complicated beyond such wholesome trades,
Whose families now have split or are delayed;
A son will look down on his dad,
Respect all gone and joy now sad.
Sad is what a mother feels,
When at debts feet her daughter kneels;
Everyday we're told we're doomed,
By a darkness from which awe once loomed.
Now in this hall I glance around,
Seeing hollow success hence surround;
From the conventional I feel I must stray,
O God, please love and guide me on my way.
