Ecstasy

Eve and Adam*, both 16, gave in to temptation to try the "hug drug."* Cuddling and kissing ceased when she succumbed to the drug, Suffering an unusually bizarre reaction--just shy of death. Two weeks later, unaffected by the drug but guilt-ridden, Adam sat by her hospital bed staring at the murmuring machines, Silently praying for her recovery and for forgiveness. Adam and Eve-- Young virgins who put themselves at tremendous risk to satisfy curiosity! *"Hug drug" and "Adam" are street names for the illegal drug Ecstasy. Like many other drugs, legal and illegal, it is very unpredictable in its effects on users. written June 29, 2016, for John Hamilton's Ecstasy Acrostic contest
