Earth Rising

The ground is gray, the sky is black and yet I fell at home inside this other world I plant my feet upon the dusty soil and hail our flag above the Soviets Three days ago I strapped myself into this capsule with my fellow astronauts it seems I’ve trained a lifetime for this day of mining rocks and golfing on the moon Call back to Houston when the day is done the fantasy of every living soul see Houston rolling out of shadow while the earth is rising like the sun.
