Dwelling

Dwelling on unwanted self-pity, Shackled in invisible chains, I see your smile closing my eyes, Which is the numbing of my pains, Back again to face my demons, A continuous releasing of pride, Submissing myself to your love, Never to leave where I reside, Tossing, monotonously turning, Dreaming sweetly of love and lust, Only to awake to concrete walls, Grey doors and windows of rust, And yet a reoccurring dream of a fountain, It's brim unsecurily flooded with love, Walking down church steps together, Releasing the latch to free the doves.

Mac, wonderful work! Too often we stay within our "Dwellings," only to miss the beauty outside our homes and outside ourselves. Love the line "Only to awake to concrete walls, grey doors and windows of rust." And we all have "our demons" to face, don't we? Love this! Thanks for sharing it, Carolyn
