~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ My domestic dwelling, hugs me like the first time my mother cradled me in her arms when I was born. It welcomes me, like a warm thick jacket put over my body when it's storming outside. It is my refuge, when the world is against me and blocks out the sun shining the spotlight on my face. It separates my extrovert and introvert counterparts by opening and closing my doors to expected and unexpected visitors. It is the place, I can freely express my craziness and weep in silence on misty days. The rain does not fall here, as the haven expels any misfortune and pain. I am a dweller in paradise.
So nice, Sara. I think this idea of 'home' applies more to females than males in general. Beautifully expressed, Gershon
grateful for your visit and for your kind comments. I can agree somewhat. Women and 'home' go hand-in-hand. Hubby calls it 'nesting.' :-) Have a pleasant day, Sara
Your poem beautifully captures the essence of home as a sanctuary, a place of solace and comfort.. The final stanza, with its imagery of weeping in silence on misty days, captures the emotional depth and vulnerability that can be experienced within the safety of one's own dwelling. The portrayal of home as a place where misfortune and pain are expelled reinforces the idea of it as a sanctuary, a space immune to the storms of life.. Lovely writing dear Sara..
When the world is against you and blocks out the sun, a haven that is homely is what we all long for. Lucky are the ones that receive that and I absolutely love this poem woven in such a heartfelt manner: showing you domestic heart and how you welcome light within, theres so many lines that stood out for me especially “ It is the place, I can freely express my craziness “ i can resonate with that. I love the line dweller in paradise. Your heart in your mothers embrace. Sending you light always
Home is the best sanctuary one can have. It is the place where we can be our genuine selves without any pretenses. There, we can shout or cry. There we needn't observe many formalities. It is a place we feel like returning to wherever we travel. Your Paradise is enviable. Sara, I felt the coziness of this place from start to finish.
thank you for your delightful and insightful comments. Home needs to be a cozy place where one can be oneself, vulnerable and able to express emotions. You're right, it's a place we feel like returning to whenever we travel. Reminds me of the Wizard of Oz "There's No Place Like Home." I'm grateful for your visit and your mindful and sensitive comments. Enjoy your evening, Sara
