Dusk

as I watch the sun fall to the edge of nothingness I look to the nights shadows street lights dim and flickering the corridor I would never walk down I pledged to myself to leave would be to stay as she fell deeper into her dusk the raw smell of decay and sewage musk to hold on would mean survival to her bright exposing day
