Dry and Arid

The environment is harsh Ground dry with barreness The rays of the sun fall Like yesterday, today and tommorow. Lonely birds sing In this arid place I now live in. Scanty clouds show Grass and shrubs droop in the heat I scan the skies in hope for waters. It is my prayer My wish that waters would fall To bring back life once again. Winds howl in the night Rushing in a journey untold Chills and cold bite Avenging attacks of the day. Such is the habitat I have been placed to reside. Once it was all green and alive This heart of mine When you and I shared love. But you left me Depriving the heart off its needs Such is the place the heart lives now.
