Drums
The drums are pounding again
Every pound
Every sin
Every nightmare once again will begin
Flashes in my mind
Every thought
Once left behind
Resurfacing in a manner not so kind
What do they want?
Do they exist
Just to taunt?
Or do they return to show a past where I can't?
Can you hear it? Can you hear the drums?
What is the point?
To remind me of times
all that dissappoint.
I'm a better man now.
Why will they not
leave with a bow?
Why torment me with memories from long ago?
Either way it's relentless.
Every pound hits harder
with a pain so selfless.
In the form of a memory that stands fateless.
Why won't the drums stop?
