Drowning Out the Truth
Drowning Out The Truth
You say you've made a friend in the bottle
In the number one solution
You're getting loose watching drop after drop
Straighten all the confusion
You want to keep the party rolling on
Refusing to face the facts
The way you live each day, day in and out
The story can end so sad
You've got to see the light
Through the night; black night
Don't waste your youth
Drowning out the truth
What you used to understand without question
You now admit with hesitation
As if in your mind you're not sure
And the cause, only frustration
I want to know that you can see through the haze
But at times it seems as thick as mud
You're searching for all the answers
But you're losing hold of what was
...I know all about feeling good
So many days I've felt that way
But it's not an escape, just a delay in the game
Because when it's over everything is the same....
You've got to see the light
Through the night; black night
Don't waste your youth
Drowning out the truth
Life, my friend, right now to you is such a joke
But as a friend I can see your pain
I know your eyes, no you can't disguise
Bloodshot lines spell out your shame
You've got to see the light
Through the night; black night
Don't waste your youth
Drowning out the truth
