Dreams In Shadows
my dreams hide in shadows of the moon
cover of darkness the day comes too soon
for tasks at hand, I’m well groomed
waking in the chambers of my room
a morning’s whisper a day of toil calls
well worn roads wind past waterfalls
a call of duty to give my all
to follow the ways of others as I recall
a life pieced together without reason and rhyme
I punch the clock I give my unending time
all for a song, a buck, quick lunch, a dime
under watchful eyes someone unkind
a look out the window shows the sky
I keep silent my dreams the desire to fly
