Dreamcatcher
I gaze in childlike awe at clear blue skies
then run barefoot, carefree on sandy beach
to catch a dream elusive as the tides.
The gulls fly low, its wings I almost reach,
I spread my arms as one who flies with them,
then run barefoot, carefree on sandy beach.
A pebble on the sand, my only gem
to throw against the waves as gulls watch me –
I spread my arms as one who flies with them.
I listen to the crashing surf with glee,
forget my blues as I pick up more stones,
to throw against the waves as gulls watch me.
Sunlit clouds cover my twilight zones,
I soak my toes at water’s edge, shivering,
forget my blues as I pick up more stones.
My dark emotions slowly disappear,
I gaze in childlike awe at clear blue skies,
I soak my toes at water’s edge, shivering,
to catch a dream elusive as the tides
