Dream

I've always wanted to love you the way that you desired, never wanting my mind or heart to retire. Watching you live your life to make me elated, only now feeling as if I were hated. So beautiful in your own way you are, I know that your heart is laced with scars. Some of which I caused and for that I'm ashamed, Why did I keep doing it? What can I gain? A fool is how I feel for the damage I've caused, Praying everyday that all is not lost. I finally "got it" and where I've messed up, We both say; "it's not you, it's me" and then we give up. Struggling to fix myself where I have failed before, cast from my house, sent out the door. Can I ever come back? Will she let me in? Not just our house but her heart that's worn thin. This is my dream, to love you forever, and never loose sight with the greatest endeavor.
