Dragonfly

Aquatic nymph to dragonfly. A rainbow coloured acrobat, With diamond facets in each eye. Feeding on wing, as they terrify, Their prey of wasp, to midge and gnat. Aquatic nymph to dragonfly, It's changing colours do belie, This natures fearsome autocrat. With diamond facets in each eye, Diaphanous wings to soar on high, A fearless creature in combat. Aquatic nymph to dragonfly, It's flights of fancy in the sky, Weaving a rainbow ribboned plait. With diamond facets in each eye, One final act before they die, Creating life. - ensuring that, Aquatic nymph to dragonfly, Yet both are one, to swim, then fly.

Hi George, great piece of imagery. The Dragonfly does look spectacular, in flight. Have you ever heard the Peter Green song of the same name?. It never fails to send shivers down my spine. Thanks for sharing- Best regards my friend!.

Great poem, do you fly fish, may I ask. This is a nature perspective on a smaller scale. What an important part all the tiny creatures play in the great scheme. "7" George. I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for commenting on my poem "Darkness Steals." I agree, I keep looking here to find inspiration, too. Hope you have a good tomorrow, I am writing as I do the overnight in a group home. Thanks again for your write, George.

Hello Brian, it's so nice of you to visit again. Your question do i fly fish intrigued me for a moment. This poem was penned after watching a nature programme on tv. I did river fishing as a young boy with my father. The only time since has been in Australia at a restuarant where to dine on trout you had to catch your fish first. I will visit you again soon. Regards George.
