Down From the Bluff
Down From the Bluff
By Kevin Robey

I’ll fake a smile to make it through
Hope you never know what I feel
This dried up skin has somehow survived
I’l never see you again with these eyes
I’ll die by my hands, they’re sure enough
Take this piercing pain up to the bluff
Throw me down, no witnesses around
I’ll smile in the dark, won’t make a sound
Time to embark on a brand new start
Beginning of the end to all my friends
To pierce my heart and rip it apart
Release the trend, I would do it again
I’ve been here before, now I’m so bored
Writing the same thing I’ve written before
So I’ll break the trend, up high on the bluff
Whatever is down there, it won’t be enough
