Down At the End
Down at the end
Cold – winds – blow . . . my skin is bitter
In – the – snow . . . an empty quitter
Take – the – pain . . . of endless trying
Bring – the – rain, rain, rain
There is a place down at the ending of this road
Where I can go to let my lonely heart explode
Come – a – long . . . the crying enter
Hear – my – song . . . half past the center
Touch – the – sun . . . the heat is drying
Bring – the – rain, rain, rain
There is a place down at the ending of this road
Where I can go to let my lonely heart explode
Around the bend in every field as I unload
There is a place down at the ending of this road
There stands a barren tree
Its branches point at me
It only hopes to see
Rain, rain, rain
There is a place down at the ending of this road
Where I can go to let my lonely heart explode
Around the bend in every field is where I spend
There is a place down at the end …………….

I won’t be entering it though, I don’t believe it is the correct form for the contest.
I just had a melody in my head that needed something written to it before it drove me nuts. : )
