Double Door

Your words—a light to my embroidered sorrow, Your heart—pumping in me hope for tomorrow Your strength—an ever-shining, unassuming moon, Reflecting a sun that shall rise very soon In daydream despair I will always remember, From suspenseful January, to darkened December That pain etched deeply in my shattered soul, As love slipped so quietly through that double door I have waited long for a chance to express, How much I cherish your showering grace Never once have I not thought of you, And the love you show that blooms our truth You are there as fellow lovers embrace, You cradle me in words I forever trace Never once assuming the worse, Healing what thrives in this bleeding verse Glistening out for all to see, the sun gleams in on high Though weakened, your mere subsistence pulls me to the sky Your heart—a growing exuberance I never can ignore Your words—a guide of gold beyond that double door January 4, 2015

Beautifully written with an explicit craft shown as obvious as the scorching sun. Great piece, a wonderful share and a blessed read.

Laura, Very powerful one here. I wonder if that double door is like a two way street? Or is that double door a larger awakening. Aw this is what I love about your poetry. You leave me pondering. ~Kilmer

Laura its a unique piece. The "double door" is a very strong metaphor/ "a guide of gold beyond that double door" I find it a very strong conclusion. Love. God bless you. rajat

The love you sew and weave so sensitively between the cotton of true kisses and the dry sackcloth of patient sorrow is beautifully pure in heartbeat. I love all the nuances of your pain, and the unyeilding hope on your lips...this so tender and beautiful Laura. "Your words, a light on my embroidered sorrow..." exquisite heart...J.A.B.
