Don'T Play Me

Don’t play me, I’m not your fool. You may think you have had the right to play with me before, But now you have nothing, no say and no hold over me. I have given you everything of me. My heart and my loyalty was yours to have, yet one day you decided you wanted something else, something that didn’t include me in the picture you held inside your head. In a heartbeat it all changed, I became less than nothing to you then. And even though you say you still care, that you would always love me, they are just words to me now. Words, that once held meaning, now there is nothing left, just doubt and the reality that you never really cared. No one could ever replace me, you told me many times over. I don’t know if it was to make me feel better, or make you out to be a saint? It makes me wonder If all the promises you made, the sweet words you said, ever was the truth? Or just made up fantasies meant for an over loving heart? If one day you cared and I was your all, only the next to be discarded without even an afterthought, not a word of apology or regret. It made me think if you ever loved me at all. Just don’t dare to play me and make me your damned fool. I’m not yours anymore, my feelings mine once more. You may only want friendship from me now, that’s fine by me. That doesn’t make it your toy, a perfect excuse to use me as you like, a temporary means of amusement and gullible recipient of your needs, I’m no longer yours to make with as you please. My respect is wafer thin, don’t ruin it by making me your fool. or else it would mean the end.
