Dont Ever Think Ive Forgotten
Don’t ever think I’ve forgotten
Or that somehow I do not care
I wonder what’s become of you
And the reason you’re never there
Don’t ever think I don’t wonder
How you spend your day and night
I do hope and pray you are well
And that your life is filled with light
Don’t ever think that I’m indifferent
Take my silence to mean I’m cold
I’m afraid that my words will betray
And you’ll think I’m brazen, bold
Don’t ever think I don’t read
Every single line that you write
I read, I go over and ponder
My heart troubled in the night
I am certain that you are aware
That I hold you in high esteem
You’re good, judicious, and kind
Yet you’ve forgotten how to dream
For now I must keep my distance
And sometimes I just want to weep
That my traitor mind works against me
But my heart your m’mory will keep
