Don't Cry for Me
When my time here has come and I’m laid to rest,
don’t cry for me, nor be distressed.
Our soul lives on and you too will see,
there is much more to come, for both you and me.
You will mourn a loss, a presence foregone,
my body has changed, but I will never be gone.
I’ll dwell in your heart and in your mind,
just close your eyes, I’ll be easy to find.
I’m sorry for the pain, my death has caused,
but our time together is simply paused.
My joints no longer ache and my back is not sore,
I can still see and hear, and I don’t cry anymore.
I’m young and perfect, I can jump and run,
we are never alone and it’s so much fun.
So don’t cry for me, do not waste your tears,
I no longer feel pain and no longer have fears.
