A song from the 70's is coming rapidly into my thought waves as I read this poem, Franci, something about Blackbird and the dead of night. Now this hippie who hardly remembers music is going to have to Google that song. Blackbird is barely mentioned in poetry. Thank you for honoring brother blackbird this morning.

You're on the right track, Caren. The song, Blackbird, by The Beatles was from their 1968 album The Beatles aka The White Album. I don't know why the song popped into my head but it was my inspiration for the poem.
