Don T Come Crying To Me
DON’T COME CRYING TO ME
Why the hell not? Yes, I’m talking to you !
Where else would you rather your child went crying to?
To a dodgy-looking school friend known
As a probable midnite toker on his own?
To the street gang anxious to expand
Membership of their lonely losers band ?
To old cousin Zabqo, always willing, always free
To sit a child on a too-friendly knee?
To an empty park bench all night through,
Afraid to come home to you?
No, this saying is one of the stupidest imaginable
Warnings to offer a child in trouble.
Hey, kid, if things go wrong, come crying to me -
We’ll be able to fix it, you’ll see.
