Doggy Doldrums

Two cats are in my doggy bed. The weather outside is cold. My mistress is busy with all her chores, As fall turns from cool to cold. The rain continues pouring down. There's nothing for me to do, But sit here in my window seat And watch the puddles, pool. FedEx man at the doorbell. Kids trudging home from school. A dog being walked in front of the house, Would make this boredom less cruel. Oh for a foraging squirrel, Or a stray cat passing by. A reason for me to growl and howl, Instead of just sit here and sigh. It’s sad, but it gets even worse than this, As the bitter cold days are born. The monotony will grow with the falling snow, While my doggy doldrums wear on.

G'day Diane... nicely written Diane. Thank God we don't get snow where I am. Just thinking of it puts me in a doggy doldrum. Regards - Lindsay

Yes Lindsay, your right about the snow. The last of it went away yesterday as a matter of fact. I had snow banks taller than me this winter. Thanks for writing! Best regards, Diane L.

It sounds like you have had a miserable time especially when the bad weather drags on and on - We are lucky we have escaped the snow this year - hope the doldrums lift soon because spring is on it way:-) Hugs jan xx

Ah Jan, That is what they keep telling us, but yesterday morning, as I shoveled 4" fresh snow from my deck . . I screamed to myself, liars, liars! Thank you so much for feeling for me. I can use the sympathy.
