Do Men Cry? (A Paul Callus & Eileen Manassian collaboration) Are men supposed to show their strength denying doubts and fears? Should they pretend to play it cool concealing all their tears? When things build up would weakness urge temptation to give in; should one betray signs of defeat because of hurt within? There is a line where macho ends, it’s there for all to see. The mask is ripped and make-up melts; emotions are set free. For men are at their strongest point when they are free to cry. Why must a man lose confidence when tears spill from the eye? For men in touch with feelings are a treasure trove to find. Each woman’s dream and deep desire’s to find one of the kind! A man who’s strong enough to show he has a caring side... well, such a man is sure to be a woman’s joy and pride. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I see nothing wrong when a man cries. It is letting out the hurt feelings that has grown within. Crying heals the pain. Yes it is good to cry. After you feel better woman or man. it is the same. So go ahead and have a good cry.

I have only ever witness my husband cry on 2 occassions and yet been with him for 26 years. Its not a fear of crying for him, it just doesnt come to him naturally. Perhaps its a design flaw ;) but i agree many men feel a need to hide such emotion, thinking its a sign of weakness - I cry at almost anything yet i dont see myself as weak. Lovely write again Paul, well done. Warm regards, Laura.

Men can get emotional and sentimental, but I think they manage to hide/control their feelings better than most women. Having a good cry is beneficial, eases tension and stress! I've always had a soft spot for a woman with teary eyes:) Warm regards ~ paul

So beautiful. Your poetry is executed to perfection. Many men fear crying is a sense of weakness, when in reality portrays how strong they are instead...

Indeed, when a man feels free enough to share his pain with me, I feel drawn to him. I actually see a man's tears as a sign of strength and depth. I bet you are one such man, Paul. This is a poignant verse and very well composed! Please check out my new contest. Maybe you can win some jewelry for Valentina. Hugs, Carolyn

If they have a heart they do. If honor rests within them they do. If something hits them that hard they do. Congrats to both fine poets for this deeper look into man's soul. Great message superb verses.

Thank you, Daniel. I've heard men boasting that they don't cry, and that tears are for women!! I attended a funeral last week, and was amazed at how many men had tears in their eyes. Regards // paul

Men are not much different when it comes to heartbreaking emotions. I wanted to say something flippant about crybabies but this was too poignant. :) Soothing collaboration.

Crybabies are usually mummy's boys, Paloma, they hang on to her skirt even through adult age...and they cry for no reason at all:) Real men do cry, for good reasons, without going to extremes! Thank you for commenting with a smile:) Regards // paul

Hi Paul, You and Eileen have written a good a collaboration. I think a man should be able to cry if he needs too. Bottled up emotions is torture to the soul. Sooner or later those emotions locked inside is going to come out one way or another. Crying can show a vulnerable side and it can be helpful in a relationship. Excellent job. A without a doubt seven:-)Alexis

Hi Eileen. It's a pleasure having you comment first...same as it was a pleasure collaborating with you...for the 7th time!:) It would be great to co-write a book with you, although I know that there is another wish that you dream of! Excuse the late reply, but my cold took a turn to the worse, and the tablets have been making me dizzy; still feeling wobbly. Hugs // paul
