Do Angels Cry Too

The curtains on a somber evening fell as weeping angels hush and pull me near; assurances of love they softly tell, to calm a soul who lost a love so dear. Like ribbons on a memory I reach to tie them all together in a bow, now wrapped in every prayer that I beseech and warmed within the heaven's lovely glow. But, why are Cherished stolen from our midst before we have a chance to say goodbye - regrets for one last time we could have kissed or even one last time we could have cried. Yet, still through angel tears that damp the dawn, I can't accept the thought that you are gone...

A habit of mine ... to go back and read first poem posted here by poet I follow. A very deeply emotional poem, Craig. While in morning it is not possible to understand the whys of life, but you've shared from your soul with us and we appreciate your heartfelt words. I especially liked that you mentioned the kiss and the tears ... either would have been meaningful to share before parting. When two become one, life is about both joy and sadness, lisses and tears. A FAV for this Sonnet. Bill

This stirred up many emotions, but the thought that Angels cry too, maybe, was comforting, like you have a comforting friend that will cry with you, or for you! I find tears to be cleansing and good for the blood pressure! This was so beautifully written and relatable!

This is tender and precious -- it sounds like you lost someone dear, I am sorry for your loss! I have tried more than an hundred times, to write about this subject, but your poem captures the experience better than anything I've read. Thank you for this beautiful write!

Thank you Andrew, this was written to a friend who lost their 24 year old daughter a few years ago. We often have the most difficulty writing about something too close to home and better at something powerful and just a step away. I'll share with you a poem like that in soup mail that touches those thoughts.

This is splendid! The poverty of my words will not do justice to the greatness of your masterpiece.

Hello Craig, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this poem. Love the lines: Like ribbons on a memory I reach to tie them all together in a bow, now wrapped in every prayer that I beseech and warmed within the heaven's lovely glow.

OOps... messed that up :DDD But take/leave whatever... Later Chum... thank you I'm having a wonderful day and its about to get even better. (my mother comes to mind reading this poem, all this mixture of being where I am now, as a happy mom, and as a daughter who has lost both her parents... mishmash)
