Wow! Looks like some good competition here! Love the "Apathy is the death knell" verse. Very dark...Also wonderful to read your lighter note limerick entry, which was very witty! Good luck with the contest and thanks for your comment!

francine, this just got better and better. I loved how you said BYOB in end of the limerick. such a cute touch. And the couplet was a really good summary of the whole aftermath. WEll done and good luck in this contest. LUv,Andrea

If I brought a bottle to your party, I'd probably end up smashing it on your ex-husband's head. Great series of poems for the contest, Francine. Good luck! Diane

Excellent entry for the contest, Francine. Really enjoyed the humor of the divorce party (BYOB), especially the reference to years that were "hit or miss." As for the couplet at the end, I don't think anyone feels much except remorse after a divorce. There's certainly no feeling of empowerment tied to it. Wishing you success in the contest, my friend. Peace and blessings, Carolyn

Nicely done, Francine! I love them all, but the Liimerick made me laugh out loud - that's too funny, 10 years of bliss, how many others were a miss? And, thanks so much for all your comments on my poems - I know I can always count on at least one comment - thanks. Joe

All three.....could be written by those who have been down such a road. Sadness, humor and bitterness.... such a large suitcase they have had to carry. Well done, Francine!
