Distilled
Time spent with a baby
Is like liquid that's distilled,
For the bad has all but vanished
And contentment is fulfilled.
As a Nana, I'm rewarded
With the giggles and the smiles
And the outside world seems far away -
At least a million miles.
For the two of us together
(And with Grandpa, sometimes three)
Have a bond that any outside person
Easily could see.
There is absolutely nothing
That can really quite compare
To the hours I spend with Henry -
Time that's precious, sweet and rare.
