Distant Love

The hours dwindle slowly by- When I want you by my side. Longing to feel the warmth of your breath As you kiss away my pride. The anger melts away, When I'm held within your arms. My balance quickly faltering; As I fall for all of your charms. The weeks are always longer- When I don't get to have you near. Wishing that I could run to you- The distance heightening my fear. The hours go by rapidly- When you are finally home. Leaving me all by myself; With my thoughts to roam. The cycle starts all over- I'm wishing that you were free. Longing to feel the warmth of your breath. Until you come right back to me.
