Discrimination

However it goes, nobody knows Whatever your belief You as you are, and those afar Through centuries of toil and grief Hardships they solved, as they evolved Bring us to date and time The past is the past, today won't last Opportunities pushed to the side With flag unfurled, in a perfect world Equality and freedom are one With sword and shield, privileges yield Then both become undone Color or race, religion and mates Must fight for what's legally theirs Riches and waste, power and taste Blindly turn from despair Bitter and charred, Solutions come hard Ignorance and greed are withstanding Social issues, adroitly abused Are solved with understanding an original poem by the "poemdog" Daniel Turner

A truth TKO this poem is, Daniel. Sacred canons of truth unveiled. Much wisdom, much humanity. Without love, knowledge is worthless. You possess both. You cup of blessings runneth over, my friend. Another powerfully honest poem. Another instant fave. Love and peace always.

Makes sense why the bible says the meek shall inherit the earth. It's a true wonder how we haven't managed to wipe ourselves off the face of the earth because it sure hasn't been for lack of trying! Great write, Daniel. If we could only find more people to listen!

Thank you, my dear. People hear what they want to hear. We just have to keep shouting.

I really like the intermittent internal rhyme, Daniel. There will always be discrimination in this imperfect world. That's why I'm waiting for a better one. Well done!

Thank you,Lin. All we can do is try to make it a better place, but sidestepping the real issues seems to be the norm, unfortunately. I appreciate your kind words of support.
