Dirt Road

misty sticky morning stroll down the dirt road waking bug repellant hand rubbed legs in lengthened strides load making soon the cadence matches breath and meditation conquers sounds from woods and gravel steps blend with jackets movement like reeds with strings and clarinet causing sweet bemusement She speaks and wakes her kindred soul so lost in fogged content He laughs and answers in control aware of her amusement it's just another morning walk both caught in contemplation they fit together like two feet each different yet the same The forest creatures watch them pass in camouflaged discretion they recognize a pair enthralled and matched to play the game
