Dinosaurs

In eons past, the state of Utah hid a mystery, Steeped in ages of geologic history, One hundred million years ago, to be exact, There were no reporters back then to record the facts. But Nature wanted us to know what happened there, She thought if we knew the facts, we might care, For of all the plants and animals alive since Time began, Ninety per cent of them have joined the cave man. They left petals, leaves, and bones for us to find, But it took Modern Man with his expertise to use his mind, We found a dinosaur--a link between mammal and bird, And with this, our natural curiosity was stirred. More then one hundred million years ago, dinos were alive, Utah had both the largest and the smallest to survive, In Utah's Green River Basin, they seemed to thrive, Utah, it seems, had just the right climate to keep them alive. Giant fern covered the forest floor, While giant Redwood trees acted as doors To protect baby dinos from large Carnovores, That the babies could hear from their hideous roars. I must be on my way now, Too much excitement has bruised my brow, I'll be back with another history lesson later, If I don't fall in a crater or get eaten by a gater Or get shot by a traiter. LOL.
