Dinner Theater

Dinner Theater Into the menu smiling cheeks reflect candlelit white tablecloth islands amid the carpeted scurry of busboys and waiters in the backdrop of our night. Tinkling laughter and ice cubes accompany depths of conversation overheard, yet unheard from couples in quorum around the raised platform at the center of the room. Noises diminish with dimming lights as all eyes are drawn to the spot center-stage except mine which remain upon you.

Having spent some years on the "dinner theater circuit" during my acting days, Carl, I can really relate to this. The worst for me was theater-in-the-round, where the actors can actually see the audience members not looking at them. But, I also agree with Jan...the ending here is very romantic.

oh how romantic an ending Carl.I wish there were more comments this poem should be in the spotlight:-) I am going to be on stage later this month reciting a couple of my poems ...about 500 tickets sold so far with the proceeds to charity.... Never stood on a proper theater stage so its not pressure at all!!!:-( arghhhhh:-) hugs jan xx

The audience becomes smaller, more intimate when you speak to the friend there with you in the front row. I'd love to see the video if one is available, Jan. carlpalmerAThotmailDOTcom
