Diamonds

Don't laugh them off for their wasted simplicity Diamonds endure a foisted impairment of reason Even torn asunder, they rise when dreams fall and children cry Don't turn them back and wear them out Their fiction resides beneath They calm aimless divides Create a great hole, and dance as told Give them time and light, Their sight ignites respect For sparkles tonight and darkness in the morning Choose spaces for them to dress and maidens to bless Their glitter is gold... and sadly, their charm is old
