Our eyes met
we were caught in each others gaze
there was never a word spoken
smiles we shared for days
the only language we spoke
were that of smiles and blushes.....

Then before a single word was said
we knew a different path lay ahead
torn apart we were
by fate, as anger grasped her
we are separate now
but our hearts stand as one
yearning to see each other
before each day is done.

Maryam, this is really wonderful. "were that of smiles and blushes" is a beautiful line but the whole poem is beautiful and the feelings are so well expressed! Love, Robin

Your words create such clarity, allowing the reader to really understand this, relate to it, feel like it's he or she that is in this. Terrific effect with that and a marvelous write. Michael
