Desolate
It was dark, there was no light
The streets were desolate, except for me
I looked before, I looked after me
But nothing could be seen.
Only desolation....
A world where there was no soul,
A world where there was no sound,
Miles and miles I walked aimlessly
Without meaning or purpose.
Around me buildings stood tall,
Some of them had started to fall,
They were battered by bullets, shattered by them
In a ghastly, grotesque state were they.
I looked around in utter despair
Pools of blood stained the ground
Hands and feet lay here and there
The sight was unbearable
A desolate, deadly world....
I looked at it and sighed;
So this ought to be our pride!
The world we often talk of
Beset with the best technology.
I laughed in scorn at the world,
Humans! See your glorious fate!
A world which you are craving for
Would end up in this state!
Desolate...
