Desert Salt
Salty taste of hell sweeps through the sanguine land
Generated fire by the wavering drunken sun
The disc up in the sky less satiated
Red ball is in disguise by afternoon still happy
Explodes in blinding light
Nomads going nowhere share the pain
Sheet covered creatures meander slow
Move through the threaded saffron strands of golden waves
Over dunes of granularity
That make up the ocean floor from desert top to bottom
Discernible footing is somewhere between air and earth
At times steps seem to disappear
Camels slide along, one hump at a time
Rocking more from instability than drinking heat
Water is a mirage, lost company in the distance
Thirst tastes delicious in the desert dry
Salt is by your side like a religion
Glistens in sun light as you walk by
