Most people don't quite grasp the risk he takes everyday so at night i say a prayer before the bed i lay To them he's just another cop on the street but in reality he's a hero, who doesnt believe in the word defeat He's fearless and mighty; in his eyes i only see wisdom and strength the power to overcome any given length His commitment to his career is one thing he'll never lack And as his daughter im forced to face the fact that once he leaves for work there's a chance he wont be coming back His pride and courage are displayed by the badge that he wears his certification earned through blood, sweat and tears Keeping you safe is his only concern but for us, his family, it's his safe return So to you, the people whom he's sworn to protect and serve we solemnly ask you give him the respect which he deserves
