Depth of Desire

I want to do with you what the spring does with the cherry trees.” ~ Pablo Neruda He quoted an intimate line from a Pablo Neruda poem, in a voice that put a deep pink blush on my cheeks and as my bud opened into a flower, fully bloomed, he nearly drowned me in passion I'd never known. One of such depth that it left me desiring another regnant wave of his love to be savored as it billowed over me. To be loved with anything less than the madness of the sea is not complete adoration; merely a limerence of infatuation. Quote from Neruda's 'Every Day You Play.'

There is an obsessive quality in this piece that borders on exquisite completeness. Yet there is an undercurrent the reader can discern as savage passion. Clearly the razor's edge was being trod quite carefully. Wonderful erotic-esque write. Rascal Belle is playing with us. ~;o)

One day my Rhett will look at me and know I’m his Scarlett.

First, dear Arlo, I've been meaning to tell you that I love you calling me, Belle. It makes me feel so like a Southern Belle. And now...your comments are dead on to how I felt when I was writing these lines. Savagely passionate and not afraid to express it. Erotic-esque suits me just fine. Belle has a little Scarlett O'Hara in her blood.

Comparing love to the madness of the sea is an exceptional line! Reminds me, in intensity, of "For Juliana comes and she, what I do to grass, does to my thoughts and me." Marvell. Elizabeth

You certainly touched on the depths of desire here Jenna, more than romantic, you capture quite intoxicatingly the utter abandonment of being lost in the moment, intensity is off the scale, superb writing, cheers David

Thank you for seeing the fine edge I danced around when writing this one, David. Your comments are the perfect words to frame my verses.

Your verse is full of fire and passion Jenna, you write these so well, I'd struggle to come up with anything like that. Tom

It comes far too easy for me to write of fire and passion, and just as easy to write about the loss of it. I couldn't write Sagas like you do so, we balance each other. ;) Thanks so much, Tom.

Good morning, Mark. When I read Neruda's quote my imagination took flight. It was either my imagination or my wild gypsy muse. I think she got upset with me when I told her not to take it any further than these two verses. You know how hot-blooded they can be. I feared she'd get me locked up again for a couple of weeks if I'd posted what she suggested.
