Dentist Visit

DENTIST VISIT I need to visit the dentist my appointment is today. A piece of tooth has broken, must be repaired without delay. Oh how I dreaded the dentist when visited in times past. I had to pluck up courage to be rid of the pain at last. I have a fear of needles though they're a necessity, as able to numb the gum and then explore the cavity. I recall that awful sound from one that is loud and shrill, the tool a dentist uses when working that horrid drill. I'm ready for the dentist, I no longer fear or shake, for the tooth to be repaired sits on my dental plate. copyright © Vivien Wade August 2018.;

Thanks for comment Jan. I tried to find the poem you wrote about the dentist, with the address you gave, but said it was unavailable. I don't know if you can post it again. Blessings, Vivien

Thanks for comment Lindsay. Many of my poems have a punch line. I also want to say that I enjoyed your poem of the day on Robin Hood, and will read more. Blessings, Vivien

I think many can relate to fear of the dentist - I was terrified and didn't go for years but had to get over the fear when my son was born, have also recently overcome my fear of blood tests and needles - I eat a sweet and have a bottle of water with me - can even go on my own now!. Wrote a poem about the dentist toowww.poetrysoup.com/poem/ooh_that_hurt_1052793. :-) hugs Jan xx
