Defeated

I feel defeat, pain and disbelief. This world on my shoulders making me feel colder. I walk in respect so I can project this image so clean thats seldom seen. Only God knows why everyone is trying to reach the top and suddenly drops. I have seen the ups and downs of life. I have shared tears walking this road  refusing to go back. The future is what I see and the past is looking back at me. I will never walk in defeat or let my heart fall in too deep. Life is a steep the highest mountain I have reached. The distance we must go to find our worth and grow. I have progress fast once a child now a woman. I refuse to be under lock and key. I'm not owned by any man. He can either take my hand or watch this door slam. My pretty brown is worth more than gold its worth rubies I was told. I will not be defeated by man or abused while in his hands. So take  a good look at me and see defeat will never be apart of me.
