Deeper
Adrift and helpless, an ice cold sea of pain;
riptide churning, waves crashing,
wreaking havoc upon my brain.
Sucked down again at the mercy of the undertow;
raging currents, terror growing,
stop struggling… there's peace in letting go.
Where are you all now, where'd you all go?
You vanished, left me alone and fighting,
but it's a losing battle, don’t you know?
Sucked deeper, exhausted, still no help in sight;
relax, be still, and take refuge,
you put up a good fight.
Embrace the icy coldness and you’ll see
where it takes you, downward, deeper…deeper,
that you’re finally at peace and free.
