Deep Down

Deep down inside me I’ve been hurting all this time When I begin to believe in you To me it feels like a crime No matter how hard you try, Everything you say to me Feels just like a lie Of what once was a family I’m the last of the nest Even though my name is for a queen, I’m always second best You stayed for her, But not for me? Because you weren’t so sure So you had to flee You ask, “What’s wrong?” “Because you don’t know... One thing is, you’ve missed all my birthdays Almost five years in a row” You say you know me That I’m mini you “Sorry, was your little girl, The one you knew” Even though to me you’re a who, All I can say is “I love you”.
